Once upon a time, in a kingdom by the sea, there was a beautiful, beautiful
girl named Annabel Lee. She was more beautiful than beautiness itself, with the
blackest hair you may ever see, longer than the line of the horizon and with
eyes darker than the night itself and deeper than the abis itself.
One day,
while she was walking on the shiny sand, near this kingdom by the sea, she saw
a young tall man looking right into her eyes. I may say it was love at first
sight, just like in novels, when their gazes united: 'What are you looking
at?', asked Annabel the gorgeous tall man. His hair was blonde and his eyes
were sky blue. He had such a profound looking when he replied with his charmy
voice: 'At you, your highness, it is the only thing i can afford. I come here
everyday to see you majesty even if i know you won't notice me, because i am
not a brave knight or an inflated rich prince. I am just a poor man working for
you and your parents to afford buying a piece of bread everyday.' Annabel was
impressed by his sincerity and she invited him to have a nice walking with her.
They talked, shared opinions, made conffesions and so on. At the end of the
day, they promised each other to come back everyday to meet. And so they did.
For a long time.
As the days
passed so fast, they begun to fall in love deeper and deeper everyday: a
sincere and unconditional love that i doubt will ever exist again. Annabel knew
that if her father would find out that she was seeing a simple, poor man, he
would have gone out of his minds. So, after days passed, they had the baddest
luck to be seen by the right hand of the king. When he found out that his
beloved daughter fell in love with a poor man, he locked her into the highest
tower of the castle, to never see Allan again, her soulmate. When the queen,
Annabel's mother, realised how much the young lady loves Allan, she helped her
escape from the tower because she knew how hard it was to marry a man you don't
love and didn't want her only daughter to be unhappy for the rest of her life.
So, Annabel kept seeing Allan until that bad, bad luck came again and they were
seen. When her father discovered, he went to the kingdom's wizard and asked: '
I heard that you practice magic in my kingdom. Now you have to pay a price in
order to continue practicing it: i want you to make a strong spell so that my daughter, Annabel Lee, would never
meet again the boy she fell in love with. They both say they are in love, but i
don't believe those nonsenses. There is no such thing as love. If she won't
marry the prince i want, then she will marry no one ever'. The wizard understood what he had to do. And
so he did. He made a spell, a curse, so that Annabel and Allan would never meet
again. He cursed Annabel to be the moon that you see everynight and gives you
hope and he also cursed Allan to be the sun that everyday keeps you warm and
cozy. As you may know, Annabel and Allan never meet each other since then. They
would only see without being seen by their soulmate .
So, if you
ever hear a crying in the quiet night you may observe the moon is the one that
cries: it is Annabel, crying for the hankering of her soulmate: she is waiting
for a good wizard to break the curse and allow her, even for a day, to be with
Allan.
It is said
that when the moon and the sun will meet each other on the beautiful sky the
world will end. So you will know when Annabel, finally, after a very long time
of waiting, meets Allan.
